Fixtures and Ladders

All fixtures will be available on our website. The fixtures online are the most up-to-date available.

Fixtures are initially released in weekly increments in grading matches, and then in 6-8 week blocks during the season.

Whilst we try not to change fixtures, this sometimes cannot be avoided. All teams are responsible for checking their fixture the week of the match, due to the below fixturing policy:

  • If a fixture needs to be changed within the week of competition (that is seven (7) days within that game), the team captain will be notified through an automated text message.
  • If a fixture needs to be changed outside of a week of that fixture, the team captain will not be notified. It is the responsibility of the team captain and the team to check their fixture within the week of their match.

Fixtures and Ladders FAQ's

When will the fixtures be released?
Fixtures will be released 72 hours prior to the first four (grading) matches - this allows us to accept team registrations, whilst also being able to create a fair grading draw.

After grading has finished, fixtures will be released in blocks (generally 6 - 8 matches) throughout the season.

Is there an option to have a preferred timeslot?
Unfortunately, due to the volume of our teams, we are unable to give teams a consistent timeslot over the season. Teams should expect to have an even spread of timeslots over the course of the season. We may be able to cater to individual week timeslot preferences, but this is only based on how far out it is from the fixture and viability. This will be made on a case-by-case basis.

Will there be any changes to fixturing during the season?
Due to forfeits and stadium availability, future fixtures may be shuffled around. We recommend that each team double checks their fixture time on the week of their upcoming match. Teams will be notified of fixture changes if the change occurs within one week of that specific fixture.

Why do the competition points not line up with the wins/ losses?
After grading, the ladder is reset, however, competition points will roll over. For example: A basketball team who won two (2) games in grading and has had three (3 wins) in the regular season, will have total competition points tally of 20. On the ladder, however, it will only show the team winning three (3) games.

When are results inputted in the system?
Results are signed off on our system immediately after the game has finished. In some cases, the results may take 24 - 48 hours to show if there are any discrepancies.

I have looked at the results, and our scores have been inputted incorrectly, who do I speak to?
Please email playsport@latrobe.edu.au with the correct scoreline of your match. We will match this up with our records and change the result accordingly.

How many competition points do we earn per match?

  • Basketball: Four (4) points for a win. Four (4) points for a bye. Two (2) points for a draw. Zero (0) points for a loss.
  • Netball: Four (4) points for a win. Four (4) points for a bye. Two (2) points for a draw. Zero (0) points for a loss.
  • Futsal: Three (3) points for a win. Three (3) points for a bye. One (1) point for a draw. Zero (0) points for a loss.

What happens if we are on the same points as another team at the end of the season?

In the case of teams being on the same competition points, the following order is used to determine a ladder position:

  • Goal/ Point difference
  • Goals/ Points for
  • Goals/ points against
  • Past match ups (if tied on all of the above factors)

Why do we play a team once but another team twice in our season?

Whilst we try to make the fixture as fair as possible, however, we cannot guarantee that teams will play each other the same number of times.
